A SECOND CHANCE
I wish I can individually pack my powder compacts with bubble wrap because every few weeks, I’m bound to find a product or two hopelessly shattered to pieces. And usually these products just happen to be my favorite ones. So my makeup artist friend Kavita Kaul taught me this simple and cheap trick to revive the injured. Now I never have to feel guilty about being careless and wasteful.
1. Put aside the broken pieces of powder
2. Transfer a bit of rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle
3. Spray generously the unbroken part of the compact with alcohol
4. Press the broken pieces of powder into the ‘moist’ compact
5. Recommended to do piece by piece and dampen each new base with more alcohol or as needed
6. Let the whole compact air dry (I leave it for 24hrs)
7. And happy ending!

FAVORITE WINTER BEAUTY LOOK
Megan Gustashaw from Glamour named Organic by John Patrick F/W 2012 makeup (by me) and hair (by Takeo Suzuki) as one of her favorite winter beauty looks.
To get the look:
1. Prep skin as usual
2. Apply foundation and/or concealer as needed. Mat texture is preferred.
3. Accentuate your brows with a brow pencil or powder. Make sure to blend well.
4. Pick a mat burgundy lipstick and apply it with your index fingertip. Layer by layer to get that nonchalant stained look.

Why did I choose Maybelline instead of any other cosmetic brands? I don’t know. I came across one ad while doing research and the rest is history.
